Jackpot prizes must be picked up at the lottery’s official office in-person. The winner must bring personal identification, tax code and the winning ticket receipt.
How Are Italian Lotto Winnings Taxed?
Most Italy lotto winnings are taxed by 20% if the amount exceeds €500. This tax rate was established in March 2020, where the previous rate was at 12% total tax. Prizes under €500 are not subject to tax. These tax amounts will be deducted before the winnings are disbursed, meaning you are not required to make a separate payment after you have received your prize money.
